What can you see in Zug and vicinity for free?

If you're in Zug and want to see something interesting after diving, without spending tons of money, here are my suggestions for free attractions.

Tadpoles Eichwald 2026

At the end of May, I've visited dive spot Eichwald to see, how tapdpoles are doing. They have already hatched and were swarming in the Eichwald.

After frogs/toads season it's time for tadpoles in Rütenen. The diving spot was flooded with them today.

Beautiful Reuss - Sins - Bremgarten

The Reuss between Sins and Bremgarten is a mix of open landscape and the riparian woodland. It is an area populated by many birds and especially the last part before Bremgarten is a hotspot for bird watchers, with many observation posts.

Hiking around Ägerisee

Ägerisee is great for water sports, but it's worth to do a hike or run around, and enjoy beatiful landscapes, historic locations and art installations.

Beautiful Reuss - Luzern - Sins

Reuss with length of 164 km is 4th biggest river in Switzerland. It is also a great hiking destination, because for almost full length it's accompanied by the hiking trails.

Crystal clear water and many pikes - Baumgärtli 1. May 2026

I've dived into the crystal clear water on dive spot Baumgärtli on Zugersee and I've met a lot of pikes. The water was astonishingly clear as for Zugersee, even on 40 meters you could still see without flashlight.

Chlausenegg Apr 2026

I've visited Chlausenegg at the end of April 2026. I've heard that the sight is excelent, and the water was really crystal clear.

Rheinau catfish dive - late April 2026

Dive place Rheinau Alte Zollbrücke is known for catfishes, that have there their rest places. This part of the Rhine river is cut off from main water current by the nearby water plant. Most of the water is directed to the water plant, and only the remains are flowing through the river bend around Rheinau. Usually, there's only a minimal current.
