Zigeunerplätzli
Easy diving place for beginners, interesting deep walls for experienced divers
Location on map
This diving spot is loved by groups of divers, because it is for everyone. It has very easy access - very shallow stony beach entry. Along the beach, there’s a shallow seagrass meadow, that you can easily exit in any point. Experienced divers can enjoy deep stone walls.
Parking
Along the street, the cars should not have cars on the pavement (cycling path).
Exit & Entry
Stony shallow beach.
Alternative entry about 300 meters north - small parking spot for 3 cars, you need to climb down along the rock.
Dive description
A classic dive means going into water near the rock with trampoline, than go right, at about 10 meters deep a stone wall starts, follow that wall down to 40 meters, and then go up. As the stone wall ends, you’ll be in muddy plateau, on the end there’s another rock - that rises above the shore. You come back along that wall. On 10 meters, there’s a big tree, with a lot of fish in summer. Near the entry, at about 8 meters, there’s an information plate placed by military divers.
Longer variant
If you stay at 20 meters, after about 5 minutes you’ll land on another wall, that belongs to the 2nd entry. When you reach a big tree on 20 meters, with various artifacts attached, you’re exactly on that entry. If you return, it will be about 30 minutes back to the beach.
Deep variant
Just like in classic variant, follow the rock down to 40 meter. Now look down, you’ll see tree trunks lying one on another. Follow them, you’ll see another trunk, which goes down to 52 meters. There’s a cow bell attached. If you look at the shore direction, you’ll see another wall. If you follow that wall, there’s a huge overhang at 60 meters.
Car wreck
There’s a car wreck exactly below the sunken tree from the longer variant. If you’re over the tree and have the stone wall behind your feet, and you follow the steepest slope, you’ll find a wreck on 60 meters. It’s recommended to use the 2nd entry when you want to go to that wreck.
Mikado
It used to be a separate diving location, but now the entry is private (the building on the shore when you look south from the beach). You need to dive 30 minutes from the entry, or 20 minutes, if you go on foot until the beach ends (crossing 2 lying trees). On 12 meters, there’s a big overhang, from which 2 big cables are hanging. Follow the cables, there’s a chandelier hanging at the end. Then you go deep, and you find huge tree trunks, connected by fisher nets, looking like huge spider web.
